Ronnie Killion

President /Tech Chairman

Car: 1970 Boss 302 Mustang

Ronnie Killion Bio
Ronnie Killion of Eustace, Texas, drives the #28 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 clone. He is the owner of Lazy K Garage doing classic car restoration and repairs, as well as building and prepping big-bore vintage race cars.

Ronnie got involved with road racing in 2006 during the Mid-America Ford and Shelby Nationals, beginning with open track events. He and some friends constructed a purpose-built vintage Mustang for endurance racing, and got involved with ChampCar Endurance Series...in order to hone their driving skills for vintage racing.

Ronnie joined Heartland Vintage Racing in 2015 and began vintage racing throughout the midwest and around the country. Throughout his time with HVR he has served in various positions including as a board member, tech chairman and was most recently elected President in 2023.

Jim Macaulay

Vice President

Car: 1973 Chevrolet Corvette

Jim Macaulay Bio
“Jimbo” Macaulay hails from Warrensburg, Missouri, and drives the #23 Unicorn Corvette. He started vintage racing in 2001 and joined HVR following his move to America's Heartland in 2014. Retired from the military and living on government cheese, when he’s not wrenching on his race car and other sketchy old cars, he’s chasing his four daughters around town, and his crew chief wife Kris around the house.

Rick Fiske

Treasurer

Previous Car: 1961 Elva Courier

Rick Fiske Bio
Rick is one of the original founding members of Heartland Vintage Racing and is currently the Treasurer. Over the years Rick has been a Vice President and President of HVR. Rick is also a long-time member of the SCCA and raced a Triumph TR3A and a 1966 Yenko Stinger Stage II Corvair in the 1970’s. Rick retired from active racing in 2022 and sold the 1961 Elva Courier that he and other club members had owned and raced for over 44 years.

Russell Dickey

Secretary - Membership

Car: 1964 Cobra 289 FIA Replica

Russell Dickey Bio
At only two days old, Russell was brought home from the hospital in his dad's '68 Shelby GT-500 and has been a self-proclaimed "Shelby Guy" ever since. He joined HVR back in 2010 and loves to talk vintage Fords and vintage racing, but all he does is talk. This guy's got cars and he's got parts...maybe someday they'll all be assembled into an actual running vehicle and put on a track. Until then, Dickey remains HVR's resident pencil-pusher.

When he's not dealing with club administrivia and being a burr under the saddle of other board members, he spends his time in the peaceful suburbs of Kansas City, Missouri, with his wife and two sons - working on their cars, assorted zero turn mowers, and doing something called "digital marketing" instead of building his vintage race car.

Patrick Stapler

Board Member - HVR Southeast

Car: 1965 Ford Mustang

Patrick Stapler Bio
Patrick Stapler of Huntsville, AL drives the #23A 1965 Mustang Hardtop. He is a mechanical engineer for Teledyne Brown Engineering Space Programs. Patrick has been involved with Mustangs and around racing Mustangs since he was seven years old, riding around in his uncle’s 1966 Mustang Hardtop.

Patrick attended his first vintage race as a spectator at the Mid-America Shelby meet in 2018. He knew he always wanted to participate in vintage racing, but after securing a ride in a fellow racer’s car, the desire was set ablaze. Patrick had purchased his car as a rolling chassis under a tarp on the side of the road not far from his house in 2015. Late 2019 and early 2020, Patrick began transforming his car into the vintage racer it is and began competing in open-track events early 2021.

Patrick joined Heartland Vintage Racing soon thereafter, completed the vintage race school and additional rookie requirements to earn his race license, and began racing with HVR in 2022. He currently serves as a board member at large and chairs the HVR Rules Committee.
