Greetings vintage racers from America’s Heartland. Spring is here and temperatures are rising, so it is time to wake your racing livery from hibernation. A lot has changed since we closed the trailer door last fall, and 2025 promises to be an epic year for America and Vintage Racing.
HVR is excited to preview our upcoming season, in the hopes that you’ll plan to join us for some great events, tracks, and like-minded vintage enthusiasts.
Our racing season begins at Hedge Hollow raceway in Adrian, Missouri, 17-18 May. We were honored to take the first green and checkered flag last year at this very exclusive supercar track, and have been invited back to join our good friends of NASA Mid America for the annual “Run the Hollow” event. This beautiful track is butter smooth, fast and wide, generating rave reviews last year. Registration is currently open on the NASA Mid-America website, where we are the Guest Race Class.
June brings the thunder to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit in Jennings, Oklahoma . The annual blue oval pilgrimage to the Mid America Nationals (formerly Mid America Ford and Shelby Nationals) has been changed a bit for 2025, and the Vintage Exhibition 13-14 Jun is now open to all makes and models of vintage racecars. This will be two days of intense track time and camaraderie for vintage racers. The infusion of different makes will undoubtedly increase the fun factor and dilute the blue oval incest. Interested racers should contact Kenny Barnett at kbarnettfarms@yahoo.com for registration details.
HVR is honored to be personally invited by the owner of Ozark International Raceway to join USAC, Ford Motor Company, and the Mustang Club of America for their first race weekend at OIR, 4-6 July. All vintage racers and closed-wheel racecars are specifically invited to this showcase event, highlighting racing heritage and the future of club racing. It will be a festive weekend with vendors, a car show, public open track lapping, some special surprises, a practice/test/tune Friday, and four full sessions per day dedicated to our vintage racing. The Lake of the Ozarks region is a premier vacation destination during the summer, so bring the family in your race trailer, and enjoy the flip side of the Ozark TV show. Registration details are available here. Be sure to mark your calendar, you don’t want to miss this epic event.
HVR will be joining our big brothers of CVAR at Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, Texas, for the Red River Rampage 12-14 September. This will be a co-sponsored event and promises to be another huge field of true vintage iron. CVAR will be running their nationally renowned Vintage Race Driver’s School, that many of us are alumni, so it’s an excellent opportunity to bring a friend that talks a big game, and get them out of the stands and on to the grid. ECR is a top-shelf racing facility, and you can expect grids of 20-30 cars in each vintage group, producing exhilarating racing for the weekend. Registration will be through the CVAR webpage and trackrabbit.com.
Our last race event will be October 10-12 with our friends and neighbors to the east of VSCDA, at Ozarks International Raceway for the Ozarks Vintage Festival. This will be VSCDA’s 3rd year hosting this event, and it gets bigger and better every year. Fall is a great time to be on the rocking rollercoaster of OIR, which is easy on the brakes but hard on the brain. Join us at the track to help make the Ozarks Vintage Festival the premier vintage racing event in middle America. Registration information will be through VSCDA at a later date.
Before putting the racecars to bed for the winter, HVR will once again be supporting the Hallett Veteran’s Day celebration and tribute, 15 November. This is a one-of-a-kind event sponsored by the Hallett Racing Circuit family, where racers honor and give track rides to our esteemed service members and veterans. A car show, vendors, food trucks and open track lapping to the public is part of the celebration. The Veteran ride event is open to credentialed drivers and racecars with a passenger seat. The event is free to drivers, but the smiles and honor given to our Veterans is priceless. A great way to close out the racing year.
We hope you will make plans to join us for any and all of the Vintage racing events in 2025.
