Philip was born in 1964 in Hammond, IN near Chicago. Based on one of the cars in his Dad’s slot car set, his first Dream Car was a 1963 Split Window Corvette around the age of 7-8. Today it is a ‘70s 911 Porsche. Philip’s first car was a Plymouth Arrow (1982). He now lives at Lake Quivira, KS which is a suburb of KC with his wife Cathy and two dogs.
Philip began autocross racing in 1985-7 in KC when he was in college in a 1973 Datsun 240Z. He still has the ’73 Datsun 240Z as a driver. Philip races a 1970 240Z race car that had 30+ years of SCCA racing history in California and Texas.
When asked what he likes about HVR, Philip replied, “It is in the Mid-west, the people are friendly, open and helpful.” Joining HVR was a natural fit after meeting some of the members and discussing my experience and goals.
