Jim MacCauly, V.P. of Heartland Vintage Racing was our guest speaker for our April meeting. Jim is a retired veteran and races his 1973 Corvette #23 with the HVR guys at various road courses in the Midwest. Heartland Motorsport Park in Topeka is their home track. Admission is free and you can join the drivers and their cars in the paddock.
If you want to see HVR race in Topeka and experience the fun of road racing, their next weekend is May 6 and 7. The gates open at 8:00 and HVR races at 11:00 and 2:30 (approximate) on Saturday. I will be there Saturday photographing the races.
